This amendment is required to increase the size of Cargo-IMP messages from 1600 characters to 3500 characters. It will facilitate the communication between the stakeholders by providing maximum information in a single message.
Any IATA Member may, within 30 days after the circulation of this Memorandum, protest these amendments by informing the Secretary of the Cargo Services Conference (CSC) with specific reasons for the protest.
If no protests are received by the close of business on Friday, 25 May 2012, the proposed amendments will become effective and implementable as of that date and will be included in the 32nd Edition of the Cargo Interchange Message Procedures (CIMP) to be released in 2012.
